What is free

Creating an account costs nothing. The following do not involve AI generation and use no coins.

• Setting up works, pen names and characters (name, profile, appearance, personality, voice selection, relationship chart)
• Entering and editing plots, screenplays and story manuscripts, and validating story manuscripts
• Consulting and diagnosing with the editorial AI within the monthly free allowance (available without a subscription)
• Confirming dialogue audio and production prep (composition and outfit assignment) in the screenplay-to-anime route
• Adopting backgrounds already in the asset library, saving panel layouts, and arranging and editing on the timeline
• Replacing part of a colourised page with another version (partial correction without AI)
• Compositing the OP/ED master and joining an anime into one video
• Publishing to the crom manga app (manga, anime, characters, stories) and updating published items
• YouTube posting (TikTok is for subscribers)

What uses coins

Any process where the AI creates new artwork, video, audio or text uses coins: model sheets, looks and standing art, scene and cover images, outfit and location assets, video generation (per second), voice, sound effects, BGM and theme songs, AI drafts and suggestions, screenplay import, bubble translation, subtitles and dubbing, colourisation and AI partial correction. The amount depends on the feature and the model chosen and is shown before you run.

Coins are bought when needed or received monthly with a subscription. Subscriptions discount image and video generation (text AI and dialogue audio are not discounted), remove the download watermark and increase the editorial AI's free allowance. Where the line is easy to misread

The same feature can be free in one route and paid in another. These are the cases people ask about.

• Dialogue audio: free to check and confirm in the screenplay-to-anime route; voice generation in the panel-to-video route uses coins
• Screenplay: writing and editing it yourself is free; AI drafts and imports from a story or manga use coins
• Editorial AI: consultation and diagnosis have a monthly free allowance; idea suggestions have no free allowance without a subscription
• Downloads: no coins, but a watermark is applied without a subscription
• EPUB export: no coins, but Pro plan only
• Assets: generating up to six of one type in a batch costs one run; one at a time costs one run each

An order that does not waste coins

Every redo spends coins, so order matters. Finish all the free preparation, verify with a small amount of generation, and only scale up once you know which settings work.

• Settle settings and manuscripts first; fix everything that can be fixed before generating
• Generate one model sheet first to confirm how your descriptions translate to images, then do the rest
• Generate assets of the same type in one batch
• Make one scene image, inspect it, then generate the rest in sequence
• Confirm dialogue voices before generating video; check with a 480p preview first
• Before regenerating, decide which of setting, reference or prompt you are changing

What happens to work made for free

Settings and manuscripts made within the free range remain as your work. Publishing itself is free (it requires agreeing to the distribution terms and character icon or thumbnail images). When a published work is read, revenue under the offer type set by the service (free, free-after-waiting or paid) is shared at the rates in the terms. Payouts are currently available to residents and companies in Japan.
